EUFAWREADY Milan Workshop 2026: Two Days of Insight and Collaboration

The EUFAWREADY consortium gathered in Milan for its first in-person workshop since the 2025 kick-off, marking two days of dynamic discussions, learning, and collaboration to advance Fall Armyworm (FAW) management across Europe.

Consortium partners shared updates on project progress and engaged in focused working sessions around the three core pillars of the project - Learn, Detect, and Manage - fostering solution-oriented discussions and practical planning. Participants also gained valuable insights from international experiences, including FAW developments in New Zealand and regional efforts across the Near East and North Africa, highlighting the importance of cross-border collaboration.

The workshop welcomed external stakeholders, bringing together farmers, EFSA, industry, plant protection networks, and technical assistance services to discuss coordinated European strategies. These interactions culminated in an interactive session on the IPM Toolbox, where participants helped define evaluation criteria and priorities, ensuring that the tools directly address the needs of farmers, NPPOs, and policymakers.

Thanks to the energy, expertise, and openness of all participants, the workshop has strengthened shared understanding and commitment to effective, coordinated FAW management. The consortium looks forward to continuing its collaborative work and delivering solutions that make a real difference across Europe.

Stay tuned for the next steps in EUFAWREADY!
